Yoga
What to expect from my yoga classes
My yoga classes combine Myofascial release techniques, conscious breathing, and mindful movement to help you reconnect with your body, calm your mind, and create a sense of balance and wellbeing.
Each class is thoughtfully designed with the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine in mind. As the seasons change, we focus on the meridians and areas of the body that may be more vulnerable to imbalance during that time of year. This seasonal approach helps support your body's natural rhythms, encouraging greater harmony, resilience, and overall health.
The classes in the studio are a maximum of 4 people; the perfect number to give everybody my full attention and share knowledge on a slow but strong basis
Through yoga, breathwork, and an understanding of functional anatomy, you will learn to develop greater awareness of your whole body and how it moves, feels, and functions. These practices help you build a deeper connection between your body and mind, giving you a clearer understanding of how they work together to support your overall wellbeing.
My teaching places a strong emphasis on cultivating a healthy core connection and integrating it with the rest of the body. By working with the body's natural design and movement patterns, you'll learn how to move more efficiently, build strength and stability, and create greater ease and balance in your everyday life.
Feels more like a private session than a generic gym class. You always come out of the classes learning something new, feeling stronger and totally reset.
My classes
-

Yoga
These classes will involve standing and seated postures that help to build muscle and strengthen and tone your body. This style helps improve flexibility, and circulation and increases stamina. It helps build heat, energy and strength from the inside out.
-

Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga is a slower-paced, more meditative version of traditional yoga. In Yin yoga, the poses are held for a long period of time (typically three to five minutes or longer) to target the connective tissues (such as the ligaments) rather than focusing on the muscles
-

Dynamic yoga
Prepare yourself for an invigorating full-body flow where you’ll explore the yoga postures and fundamental principles of Vinyasa Yoga. My Dynamic Yoga class is set to inspiring tunes and will work every muscle through movement and breath at a moderate, but intuitive pace.
Yoga Teacher Training
I also offer Yoga Teacher training on a variety of different topics. Examples of the available courses are:
Myofascial and functional anatomy for yoga teachers
2 hour unit talking about the benefit of myofascial release and introducing techniques to facilitate this type of release.
Includes a practice session where trainees can experience these techniques
Also an immersion on what is Functional anatomy and the understanding of the connection of the whole body rather than divided in fragments.
Hyper-mobility and functional integration for yoga teachers
Introductions and opening with some info on the key types of hypermobility and brief descriptions of these and what they mean in practice for different people.
Includes info on ‘degrees’ of hypermobility, and how people with hypermobility might also have tight muscles and hold a lot of stress in their tissues.
Open discussion about what all of this can mean for teachers in a group class or private lesson, and what could be the risks for these students (eg being pushed to go further in a pose, or being physically adjusted etc)
Task for small groups to create a short sequence and modify it for hyper-mobile students - to be discussed in large group
